The Years Fly By…

“The years rush past, as every older woman will tell the young mothers who complain that they still have two little ones at home and it seems like forever before they will all be in school.  Oh no, they say, time flies — enjoy them while they’re young — they grow up so fast…

The mothers agree that indeed the years do fly.  It’s the days that don’t.  The hours, minutes of a single day sometimes just stop.  And a mother finds herself standing in the middle of a room wondering.  Wondering.  Years fly.  Of course they do.  But a mother can gag on a day.”

–Jain Sherrard, as quoted in The Preschooler’s Busy Book by Trish Kuffner

  1. Amen. Heh. 🙂 Maybe my nautiousness hasn’t been all pregnancy related lately. 🙂 It’s good to know you are still allive… 🙂

  2. OK, so I knew you were alive–I’d spoken with you…but I was missing your posts, too. And when I’d check and find nothing new, it got longer between checks, then Richard began monopolizing the computer [hockey trades] so finally, I look, and there are three postings! Wow! I loved the quote. It is so true. Very very true. So treasure up the good moments–try to forget the bad–or at least not let them get you too down, because the years, they do fly!
